Six years, one team, many successes
More than just words
Insights into management and everyday life At MHC Mobility since 2016, Christian Bremer provides exciting insights into his work as head of department.
How did you join MHC Mobility and how has your career developed?
My path to MHC Mobility was rather unconventional. On the recommendation of my handball teammate Carsten Gruschka, who works in the workshop, I joined as a dispatcher on May 1, 2016. I was then promoted to Head of Department in 2021. I am particularly proud of the fact that my office team with Eileen and Wilko has been working together unchanged since 2016. This continuity shows how well we harmonize as a team.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
My everyday life is varied. In day-to-day business, I coordinate vehicle deliveries and collections. I also deal with personnel issues, higher-level orders such as trucks and coordinating processes with other departments. I manage a large team of 25 mini-jobbers, 4 full-time truck drivers and 2 other office staff. What makes me particularly happy is that everyone is motivated, takes responsibility and works very independently.
What do you particularly like about your job?
My team definitely comes first! We have a lot of fun at work and the team spirit is truly unique. I became particularly aware of this when I moved home: without having to ask specifically, some colleagues spontaneously offered to help. That really touched me and shows that our team is like a family in which trust is very important. This solidarity also says a lot about our company. With its employee-oriented corporate culture, MHC Mobility creates the conditions for us to feel so comfortable here. I also appreciate the working hours with weekends off.
How would you describe your management style?
I cultivate a cooperative management style and focus on working at eye level. I see myself as a team member and not as an aloof boss. I am convinced that it is precisely this attitude that promotes the strong team spirit that we have in our department.
How do you spend a day off?
I prefer to spend my free time with my family. I like to go on relaxed outings with my wife and our son, for example to the zoo. We also like to travel. I used to go cycling a lot – once I even went to Amsterdam for a week.
