Tax Benefits of a Hyundai as a Company Car
The monthly payment for a Hyundai car subscription is generally treated for business purposes as business expense is recorded and reduces taxable income. If a Hyundai company car is also used for personal purposes, different rules apply depending on the type of powertrain.
Hyundai models with internal combustion engines, such as the i10, are taxed as a monetary benefit under the 1-percent rule based on the gross list price when used as private company cars. In addition, 0.03 percent per kilometer traveled is added for trips between home and the primary place of work.
Fully electric Hyundai models, such as the KONA Electric or the IONIQ 5, are taxed at just 0.25 percent of the gross list price, provided that the gross list price does not exceed 100,000 euros. This limit was raised from 70,000 euros to 100,000 euros effective July 1, 2025 (Section 6(1)(4) of the Income Tax Act (EStG)). If the gross list price exceeds 100,000 euros, the 0.5 percent rule applies.
All-electric vehicles are also exempt from motor vehicle tax for ten years from the date of initial registration, but no later than December 31, 2035, provided that initial registration takes place by December 31, 2030 (Section 3d of the Motor Vehicle Tax Act [KraftStG], extended by the Eighth Act Amending the Motor Vehicle Tax Act of December 2025). The specific tax classification should be discussed with a tax advisor.

A Hyundai car subscription differs from traditional leasing in several ways: no down payment, no fixed 36-month commitment, maintenance and insurance included, and no residual value risk. Anyone trying out the Hyundai car subscription or comparing it to Hyundai leasing should pay particular attention to contract flexibility, included benefits, and the provider’s service structure. MHC Mobility operates nine service locations in Germany, ensuring that vehicle handover, maintenance, and repair services are available nationwide.
The cost of a Hyundai car subscription depends on the model you choose, the term of the subscription, and the agreed-upon mileage.
