YD models such as the Atto 3 are taxed at only 0.25 percent of the gross list price when used as a private company car, provided the gross list price does not exceed 100,000 euros. This limit was raised from 70,000 euros to 100,000 euros effective July 1, 2025 (Section 6(1)(4) of the Income Tax Act (EStG)). If the gross list price exceeds 100,000 euros, the 0.5 percent rule applies.
As purely electric vehicles, BYD models are also exempt from motor vehicle tax for ten years from the date of initial registration, through December 31, 2035, at the latest, provided that initial registration takes place by December 31, 2030 (Section 3d of the Motor Vehicle Tax Act [KraftStG], extended by the Eighth Act Amending the Motor Vehicle Tax Act of December 2025).
