Long-term commercial vehicle rental: Vans and panel vans for every purpose

Commercial vehicles are the backbone of many companies: They transport materials, tools, goods and equipment. At MHC Mobility, you can rent vans, panel vans and light commercial vehicles on a long-term rental basis at a fixed monthly rate that includes insurance, maintenance and service. Industry-specific installations and special equipment are possible from the very first vehicle.

Why rent commercial vehicles long-term instead of buying or leasing?

Commercial vehicles are subjected to much greater stress during operation than passenger cars. They drive under load every day, are driven by different drivers and have to meet industry-specific requirements. It is precisely this intensity that makes long-term rental for commercial vehicles particularly attractive.

No risk of wear: If you buy a commercial vehicle, you bear all the wear and tear yourself: Brakes, tires, clutch, bodywork. With long-term rental, all wear and tear repairs are included in the monthly rate. Unforeseen workshop costs are completely eliminated.

No capital commitment: Commercial vehicles are more expensive to purchase than comparable passenger cars. A new van with fittings can quickly run into the high five-figure range. Long-term rental avoids this investment and makes mobility a predictable operating cost factor.

Ready for use from day one: MHC Mobility supplies commercial vehicles with industry-specific fittings and lettering on request. From day one, the vehicle is a fully operational work tool, not just an empty cargo space.

Scalability with fluctuating demand: Order peaks in summer, project business, seasonal fluctuations: With FlexiRent, additional commercial vehicles can be obtained from the fleet at short notice. SelectRent allows you to plan the standard fleet for the long term. Both can be combined in the same fleet.

Regular vehicle replacement: Commercial vehicles age faster than passenger cars due to intensive use. In long-term rental, vehicles are replaced according to defined parameters so that quality and reliability are guaranteed in the long term. If you buy a vehicle, you would have to sell it yourself and replace it with a new one.

Commercial vehicle types in long-term rental with MHC Mobility

MHC Mobility offers various types of commercial vehicles for commercial long-term rental, regardless of manufacturer. All vehicles have a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 tons and can be driven with a normal car driver’s license (class B).

Panel van for long-term rental

Panel vans are the workhorses of commercial logistics. The closed load compartment protects materials and tools from the weather and theft. MHC Mobility offers panel vans in various sizes:

  • Ford Transit Custom: Ford Transit Custom 320 L2H1: Powerful panel van with remarkable load capacity, ideal for high payload requirements
  • Ford Transit 350: Ford Transit 350 L3H3: spacious panel van for extensive transportation tasks
  • Opel Combo Cargo: Opel Combo Cargo XL 1.5: Compact panel van with long wheelbase and large loading area
  • Citroën Jumper: Citroën Jumper 35 L2 Heavy: Robust transporter for heavy loads

Electric commercial vehicles for long-term rental

MHC Mobility offers fully electric vans for companies that operate in inner-city low emission zones or want to electrify their fleet:

  • Ford E-Transit: Ford E-Transit 350: Electric van for delivery traffic and trade
  • Mercedes eSprinter: Mercedes eSprinter: Powerful e-transporter for high payloads and large load volumes
  • Mercedes eVito: Mercedes eVito: Flexible electric van for a wide range of applications
  • Opel Vivaro-e: Opel Vivaro-e: Compact electric van for urban use
  • Opel Combo-e: Opel Combo-e: Electric city delivery van for the last mile

Flatbed trailer for long-term rental

MHC Mobility offers flatbed trailers for the transportation of bulky materials, construction elements or equipment that do not fit into a closed loading space:

  • Ford Ranger: Ford Ranger 2.0: Robust platform truck with large towing capacity and load capacity, ideal for construction and agriculture
  • Other platform models can be configured as desired new vehicles via SelectRent

Industry-specific installations: From transporter to ready-to-use work equipment

What distinguishes a commercial vehicle from a normal van is the equipment. MHC Mobility has in-depth expertise in equipping specific vehicle fleets and implements industry-specific installations from the very first vehicle.

Available fixtures and optional extras for long-term commercial vehicle rental

  • Shelf installations and sorting systems for tools and small parts
  • Toolboxes and transport boxes
  • Lashing rails and tension belt systems for securing loads
  • Pipe supports for the transportation of long materials
  • Rotating beacons for use in road traffic and on construction sites
  • Warning markings in accordance with legal regulations
  • Ventilation and air conditioning of the cargo area
  • Partition walls between driver’s cab and load compartment

Special conversions from the first vehicle

Unlike with many providers, industry-specific installations at MHC Mobility are not tied to minimum purchase quantities. Individual vehicles can also be individually equipped.

Long-term commercial vehicle rental for your industry

MHC Mobility supports companies from various industries with specific commercial vehicle requirements. The most common areas of application:

Trade and construction: Robust vans with shelving, toolboxes and roof racks. Vehicles have to be loaded, unloaded and driven to different construction sites every day. Typical models: Ford Transit, Citroën Jumper, Opel Combo Cargo.

Logistics and courier services: Quickly available vans for the last mile. Electric models such as the Ford E-Transit or the Opel Vivaro-e are particularly popular in urban delivery traffic, as they can operate without restrictions in environmental zones. FlexiRent enables rapid replenishment during order peaks.

Retail and wholesale: Panel vans and station wagons for deliveries to branches, customers and events. Flexible loading solutions and lettering for advertising on the road.

Industry and energy companies: Commercial vehicles for technical field service, equipped with special tools, measuring devices and safety equipment. Rotating beacons and warning markings are often required.

Warehouse and logistics: Transport vehicles for connecting warehouses, production facilities and customers. Lashing rails and load securing are particularly important here.

What is included in the monthly commercial vehicle long-term rental rate

MHC Mobility’s long-term commercial vehicle rental works as an all-round carefree package. The fixed monthly rate includes

  • Registration and vehicle tax (exempt for electric commercial vehicles until the end of 2030)
  • Motor vehicle liability insurance and liability reduction
  • Maintenance and wear and tear repairs
  • Tire change
  • UVV inspections (required by law for commercial vehicles)
  • 24-hour emergency service and replacement vehicle service
  • Pick-up and delivery service
  • Broadcasting fee

In addition, you only pay for the fuel or electricity. The risk of wear and tear is a significant cost factor, especially for commercial vehicles, which are subject to more wear and tear in commercial use than passenger cars. This risk is fully covered in the long-term rental.

Particularly relevant for commercial vehicles: The UVV inspection is required by law for commercially used vehicles. MHC Mobility ensures that these inspections are carried out on time without your fleet management having to worry about them.

Using commercial vehicles for tax purposes

The monthly rental rate is fully tax-deductible as a business expense, including all included services. In the case of commercial vehicles that are used exclusively for business purposes, the non-cash benefit taxation does not apply in full. The entire installment is then directly deductible as a business expense.

Additional tax benefits apply to electric commercial vehicles: The vehicle tax exemption for purely electric vehicles applies until the end of 2030 and has a greater impact on commercial vehicles than on passenger cars due to the higher vehicle weight. If an electric commercial vehicle is also used privately, the 0.25% rule applies to the non-cash benefit (BLP up to €70,000).

Long-term rental Practical example: Commercial vehicle fleet for an electrical installation company

An electrical installation company with 25 employees in southern Germany needs ten vans for daily use on construction sites and at end customers. The vehicles must be equipped with shelving for cables, tools and measuring devices. In addition, all vehicles are to be uniformly labeled with the company logo.

The solution via MHC Mobility:

  • Eight Ford Transit Custom with shelf fittings and toolboxes, configured via SelectRent with uniform color and equipment
  • Two Opel Combo Cargo for smaller assignments and customer appointments without heavy equipment
  • All ten vehicles with uniform company lettering, realized before delivery
  • In spring and fall, when the order situation picks up, two additional vans are obtained from the fleet via FlexiRent
  • A personal contact person coordinates maintenance appointments, UVV inspections and vehicle replacement for the entire fleet
  • In the event of a claim, MHC Mobility handles the insurance claim and provides a replacement vehicle so that no assembly team loses a day’s work

The result: ten ready-to-use, uniformly branded commercial vehicles at predictable monthly costs, with seasonal flexibility and complete relief for service and administration.

Maintenance and service for commercial vehicles for long-term rental

Commercial vehicles are subjected to more intensive use than passenger cars: higher mileage, heavier loads, more frequent driver changes. This is why a reliable maintenance logic is particularly important. MHC Mobility actively reminds you when service appointments are due, organizes workshop visits and provides a replacement vehicle in the event of repairs.

Commercial vehicles can be presented for extensive work at the nine MHC Mobility Centers in Germany: Body repairs, tire changes and tire storage, UVV inspections and general inspections, installations, conversions and removals, inscription and de-inscription of advertising films and refilling of operating fluids.

MHC Mobility also replaces commercial vehicles according to defined parameters in order to ensure vehicle quality in the long term. This means that you always drive a commercial vehicle in perfect condition without having to worry about the ageing process and resale.

Commercial vehicles in long-term rental vs. purchase

Buying commercial vehicles is still the most common option. However, the comparison shows why long-term rental is the better choice in many situations, especially for commercial vans:

Criterion Long-term rental (MHC Mobility) Purchase
Acquisition costs None, fixed monthly installment High one-off investment
Risk of wear and tear Included in installment Completely with the company
Installations Possible before delivery, can be integrated into installment Can be organized and financed by yourself
Insurance / Maintenance Included in rate To be organized separately
Vehicle quality Regular replacement according to parameters Ageing in own fleet
Scaling Can be expanded at short notice via FlexiRent New purchase required
Resale Not applicable (return without residual value risk) To be organized by yourself, with loss of value
Balance sheet effect Operating expense, no capitalization Fixed assets with depreciation
