Mobility architecture products and concepts
1. terminology: What do leasing, long-term rental and car subscription mean?
1.1 Leasing
Leasing is a standard market term for long-term vehicle use with a contractually fixed term and mileage. Depending on the provider and contract, services may be included or regulated separately. Leasing is often used for predictable, rigid, long-term fleets.
1.2 Long-term rental
Long-term rental is a standard market term for the long-term rental of a vehicle over months or years with a monthly rental rate. Depending on the service description, services are integrated or added as modules.
1.3 Car subscription
Auto-Abo is the product logic with which long-term rental is communicated as a simple package. The core element is a fixed monthly rate and a clearly defined scope of services. Fuel or electricity are typically separate.
1.4 Classification at MHC Mobility
At MHC Mobility, long-term rental is the generic term for long-term vehicle use with a monthly rental rate and defined services. Car subscription is the product logic with which MHC Mobility makes this long-term rental understandable as a package.
FlexiRent and SelectRent are MHC Mobility’s two car subscription product models based on long-term rental.
The following applies to the decision in the company: SelectRent is long-term and configurable and is often classified as close to leasing in comparison. FlexiRent is available at short notice and immediately and is classified as a flexible car subscription for rapid availability.
1.5 Classification label close to leasing
Leasingnah is a comparative label for orientation. It does not mean that SelectRent is legally leasing. It does mean that SelectRent is often evaluated in the same decision space as commercial leasing in terms of term logic, plannability and customizability.

Immediately available mobility with a short minimum term and integrated services so that companies can scale at short notice without long lead times.
3.4 Vehicles
Vehicles immediately available from stock.
3.5 Term and flexibility
Flexible terms from one month. After the end of the contract, it may be possible to continue traveling under the same conditions. From this point onwards, daily termination may be possible, depending on the respective contract.
3.6 Service scope and cost logic
The monthly rate is designed as a fixed rental rate. Almost all ongoing vehicle costs are included, depending on the service description. Fuel or electricity are typically separate. Insurance and maintenance are positioned as integrated services, depending on the selected scope.
3.7 Creditworthiness and conditions
The credit check is a prerequisite for concluding a contract. Following a successful check, the monthly rate is designed as a standardized rental rate and is not graded individually based on creditworthiness.
3.8 Individuality
Vehicle exchange during the term may be possible. Modifications are possible after consultation. The specific scope depends on the vehicle and the contract.
3.9 Area of application
Perfect for fluctuating demand, project teams, short-term new hires, seasonal peaks and for bridging delivery times when no manufacturer configuration is required.
